On 31st October 2019, we were named the Best Newcomer at the Singapore Rice Bowl Startup Awards 2019. We couldn’t have done it without the hard work of our incredible team, as this level of recognition puts us in the company of winners like YouTrip for Best Startup 2019, and also Insignia Ventures Partners, Investor of the year 2019 at the national level in Singapore.
Janio originally started off with only four founders and a couple of employees here in Singapore. From these early days, we had a clear vision to be the reliable logistics partner that grows with the clients we serve. Our small size and localised presence in Southeast Asia gave us the distinct advantage of knowing what our clients’ pain points are, so we could develop solutions that worked.
Now, we have expanded to offices in the Greater China region, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The addition of these local branches helps us to adapt to the needs of other clients in these regions. With that, we’ll continue striving to provide excellent service to our clients no matter the size or nature of the business.
This expansion also means we serve more than 75 lanes across 15 markets in Southeast Asia and beyond. And we’re not stopping there – we’re aiming to serve more than 200 lanes by 2021.
The fifth ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards was presented by The Co. at 99 Duxton and organised by the New Entrepreneurs Foundation (myNEF). The awards were created to showcase individuals or teams that uniquely impact the startup community, such as investors, technologists and entrepreneurs who celebrate the spirit of innovation in the Southeast Asian startup ecosystem.
We are humbled to be recognised this way, as this validates our efforts in solving tangible problems within the logistics industry in Southeast Asia. Our product helps to integrate and digitise a fragmented supply chain, making the industry more efficient and remain relevant to an increasingly digitalized wave of merchants in the region.
The next round for national winners will represent their countries at the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards, which has seen the likes of Grab and 500 Startups as past year winners, and will be held in Kuala Lumpur in January next year. We look forward to waving the Janio flag high, and to continue solving some of the most pressing problems in the region.
If you’re keen on finding out more about what we are doing in the region, or if you’d like to work with us, do drop us a note at contact@janio.asia!
