The role

Janio is looking for a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to join our rapidly expanding regional team that is based in Singapore. We are looking for an experienced and numbers driven leader to build and scale our commercial and partnership efforts, as well as play an active role in our strategy discussions. In this role, you will also be expected to align our commercial strategies with the marketing and product teams, as well as implementing core go-to-market initiatives to support our global revenue function. Fundamentally, you will need to be able to influence broader company strategy and vision at both a company and leadership level. You are also expected to plan a clear milestones roadmap and formulate strategies to achieve growth. This role expects you to assume regional P&L responsibilities.

As part of your responsibilities, you will lead the commercial teams across Southeast Asia, dive into complex business challenges and grow teams to drive revenues. This position is exposed to multiple aspects of setting up a business in a fast-paced startup environment. We invite candidates with an entrepreneurial and motivated mindset, as well as a keen interest in ecommerce, combining logistics with new technologies, to apply. You must be a hands’ on, roll up your sleeves type of leader and should enjoy a fast-paced, high impact entrepreneurial environment. This position requires the individual to navigate many unchartered grounds and build processes and teams from ground up.   • Play a pivotal role in Janio’s strategic planning and collaboration across cross-functional teams to translate company vision into actionable strategies across all commercial functions
  • Take ownership and be a strong interface between Janio and its customers to align product and market fit
  • Own the design and implementation of Janio’s most critical go-to-market processes and initiatives.
  • Actively develop and facilitate effective internal and external partnerships and communications to drive business growth
  • Inherit the key accounts functions and maintain a strong client-partner relationship with our clients to support their regional growth
  • Own the data –drive key recommendations on revenue generation and inherit the sales forecasting model, pipeline reporting and analysis which supports overall target setting for Asia region
  • Assume P&L responsibilities for key markets under your charge

The requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in a commercial strategy role and proven leadership track record in an ecommerce or logistics capacity. Related experience in management consulting, cross-border ecommerce is a plus
  • Strong business intuition: Experience breaking down business problems into the key levers and digestible next steps
  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual thinking skills can identify and track KPIs to monitor the health of a business or product
  • Proven project management skills, with success owning complicated cross-functional programs and projects to timelines around common goals
  • Ability to craft compelling presentations, and able to relay information in a seamless way.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills
  • Can work independently as well as speak and write English fluently, other Asian languages are a strong bonus
  • A strong work ethic and ability to navigate and thrive in fast-changing work environments. You are a self-starter and enjoy building teams and processes from ground-up.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and consistently demonstrate a high proclivity for excellence
  • Experience influencing stakeholders is a plus.
