The role

Business Intelligence Manager

Janio Asia is looking for a Business Intelligence Manager to join our rapidly expanding team. We invite candidates with an entrepreneurial and motivated mindset, as well as a keen interest in combining logistics with new technologies, to apply.

As Business Intelligence Manager, you will be responsible for driving the collection and use of business intelligence data across all departments. The candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing his/her own team in analyzing and acting on data and implementing systems and processes to improve the effectiveness of the use of data within the group.This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.


  • Lead and manage the Business Intelligence team to utilize and further improve the company’s use of its available data
  • Apply statistical and/or mathematical techniques and methodologies in order to better interpret complex data
  • Establish new creative ways of measuring the business
  • Interpret data and provide input into strategic initiatives based on the established facts
  • Regularly prepare, analyze, and present internal reports to company stakeholders including but not limited to
    internal business reviews and P&L analysis overall, per department, per service, and per business unit
  • Provide clients with regular reports, updates, and business reviews to provide full transparency of performance
    and service levels
  • Automate and streamline functional processes to ensure efficient use of time and resources
  • Provide analytical support for specific requests from upper management

Background/ Profile Preferred

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence, Planning and Analysis, Operations Excellence, and/or other analytical roles
  • At least 2 years’ experience in supervisory or managerial capacity
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in VBA
  • Intermediate to Advanced SQL skills, as well as basic analytical tool experience such as SAS, SPSS
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics languages like Python or R is a bonus
  • Experience using Periscope or Tableau
  • Knowledge of scripting for automation (Python, Perl, or Ruby)
  • Demonstrated understanding of data warehousing & ETL
  • Experience in eCommerce, cross-border logistics, and/or B2C operations is a distinct advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other similar fields
  • Experience interacting, coordinating, and liaising with C-level executives
  • Excellent presentation skills promoting both quantitative and qualitative insights
  • Proven ability to establish and articulate departmental goals and direction
  • Innately curious and up-to-date with latest BI trends
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
